Regular Savings Account:
This account is an owner's share account. The minimum opening deposit
is $5.00 plus a one-time account fee of $5.00. Residents of Lewis
and Idaho county, family of current members, and member businesses
are eligible for membership.
With an owner's share account, if you are at least 16 years of
age, have not been an employee of KCCU for the previous 5 years,
and are a member in good standing, you are eligible to participate
in the affairs of the credit union by running for the board of directors,
volunteering for a committee, and voting at our annual meeting.
Share Certificates:
Share Certificates are available with or without compounding interest
for 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months and 24 month maturities.
You can choose to have the interest deposited to your savings or
draft account each month or let the interest compound until maturity.
All of our certificates are automatically renewable at the interest
rate offered as of your maturity date. We will send you a maturity
notice before your certificate matures, but you must tell us if
you wish to cancel it upon maturity. You will see our certificate
interest rates are very competitive.
IRA's:
Your credit union offers traditional IRA's, IRA Certificates and
Coverdell (Education) IRA's. KCCU IRA accounts are designated credit
union share accounts. Talk to your tax professional about the benefits
of IRA's and how they can be an important part of your family's
financial plan.
Christmas Club:
These accounts are restricted accounts and are subject to closure
and carry a substantial penalty for early withdrawal. All funds
deposited to your Christmas Club accounts are held until maturity
(November 1).
Medical Savings:
The State of Idaho has granted tax benefits for deposits to a qualifying
medical savings account. You may be able to deduct up to $4000.00
in qualifying medical expenses and insurance deductibles and CO-payments
for joint filers with a qualified account. Talk to your tax professional
about the benefit you and your family may be eligible to receive
by opening a medical savings account.
